It’s all about mini beasts
It’s been a busy time at nursery with the children learning about and exploring minibeasts. The babies had the opportunity to develop their fine motor skills and pincer grip whilst trying to free bugs from home made webs. It was a chilly experience playing with bugs in ice allowing the children to experience a different texture and talk about melting.
The children used a variety of vegetables to print with paint to make mini beasts adding their own features using felt tips, collage materials and paint.
Soil play was very popular, developing scooping skills, counting bugs and talking about colour and size.
Sarah caught a real caterpillar that the children got to look at, the older children were really fascinated and couldn’t believe how many legs a caterpillar had.
